EEXI (Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index) & Energy Efficiency Solutions

White Coral Offshore Services provides consultancy and execution services to the Ship Owners, Operators, and Managers to ensure compliance with the recently introduced Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) Legislation.

The EEXI measures the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of vessels already in operation with a gross tonnage exceeding 400. The carrier (operational) or ship owner must ensure their assets comply with EEXI regulations by January 1, 2023.

EEXI can be applied to: Bulk Carriers, Gas Carriers, Tankers, Container Ships, General Cargo Ships, RO-RO Cargo Ships, RO-RO Passenger Ships, LNG Carriers, Cruise Passenger Ships Non-Conventional Propulsion of 400GT.

All ships mentioned above must adhere to a prescribed Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI). A specified reduction factor determines this index, expressed as a percentage relative to the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) baseline. The achieved EEXI must be equal to or lower than the Required EEXI.

There are many options to meet the Required EEXI; White Coral Offshore Services will provide you with the following as a turn-key solution provider:

  • Calculation of the vessel’s EEXI
  • Feasibility and return on investment (ROI) Study on the solutions to reduce EEXI.
  • Integration of the solutions
