Technical documentation of vessel damage, extent, probable cause where evidence permits, repair requirements and follow-up.
White Coral provides ship damage and repair surveys for vessel owners, operators, P&I interests, insurers, charterers and other parties requiring an independent technical assessment.
Damage Survey Scope
Our attendance can be tailored to the incident and may include:
- Initial inspection and documentation of the affected area;
- Assessment of the nature and apparent extent of damage;
- Review of relevant vessel drawings, records, photographs and statements;
- Consideration of probable cause where supported by the available evidence;
- Assessment of operational, structural or safety implications;
- Review of temporary or permanent repair proposals;
- Photographic documentation and technical reporting;
- Follow-up attendance during or after repair.
Repair Review and Follow-Up
Where repair is required, White Coral can review the proposed repair scope against available drawings, material requirements and the applicable Classification Society or statutory requirements. We can also coordinate with repair contractors, vessel staff and Class, and attend repair work where instructed.
Evidence and Reporting
For claims-related matters, careful documentation is important. Our reports distinguish between observed facts, information provided by third parties and professional technical opinion. Conclusions are limited to the evidence reasonably available at the time of attendance.
